Kinesiology

Kinesiology is a natural health care system which uses gentle muscle testing to evaluate how effectively the many aspects of the body are functioning. To do this muscle testing the kinesiologist places the client's arm, leg or head in a specific position to isolate one specific muscle and then applies a gentle pressure against it. Testing a muscle in this way does not measure its raw physical strength but rather tests the integrity of the many factors which determine its response when called upon to contract.

Different muscles are linked to different organs in the body via the neurological pathways which originate in the spinal chord. Therefore weakness in a certain muscle may suggest an imbalance in the related organ.

Weaknesses can be caused by structural misalignments, nutritional deficiencies, emotional disturbances or energetic imbalances and by means of further muscle testing the kinesiologist will be able to determine which of these factors need addressing and how. Furthermore, by stimulating the flow of lymph, blood and vital energy to the weakened muscle and related organ by stimulating various points, the body's own healing processes are encouraged to work more effectively.
